Governor Sandoval’s appointed Marijuana Task Force had its first public meeting on Friday, March 3rd.

According to his Executive Order,  “The Task Force’s mission is to identify the legal, policy, and procedural issues that need to be resolved.” This will include testing, transportation, sales, distribution, packaging, possession and more.

Some, including Senator Tick Segerblom, were disappointed in the diversity of those appointed. “I see a lot of white men… I think we need more diversity, so I would ask that our panel members reach out to communities for wider input,” he said.

The Task Force is scheduled to deliver its final recommendations for regulating the industry and addressing public safety on May 30, 2017.
